Become a Hometown Leader

Help Tell the Story of Your Community

Every neighborhood has a story worth sharing.

At Hometown Living, our mission is to celebrate the people, places, traditions, and local businesses that make every community a wonderful place to call home. We believe the best stories come from the people who live there—which is why we’re looking for passionate Community Leaders to help showcase the unique spirit of their hometown.

Whether your community is known for beautiful neighborhoods, outdoor recreation, outstanding schools, local events, or simply friendly neighbors, your knowledge and enthusiasm can help create a publication and online community that residents are proud to call their own.

The Role of a Community Leader

Community Leaders are the local connection between Hometown Living, residents, and local businesses. They help us discover the people, stories, photographs, recipes, and businesses that make each community unique.

As a Community Leader, you may:

  • Welcome residents to participate in Hometown Living.

  • Encourage residents to submit beautiful community photographs.

  • Gather inspiring stories about neighbors, families, schools, and local traditions.

  • Collect favorite family recipes for future Hometown Living Lifestyle Magazines.

  • Share information about community events, clubs, organizations, and volunteer opportunities.

  • Highlight parks, landmarks, and hidden gems that make your hometown special.

  • Introduce outstanding local businesses that may be a great fit for Hometown Living’s Dream Team Partner Directory.

  • Help build stronger connections between residents, businesses, and the community.

No writing, photography, publishing, or sales experience is required. If you enjoy meeting people, supporting your community, and bringing others together, you already possess the most valuable qualifications.

Why Community Leaders Matter

The heart of every Hometown Living publication is its people.

Our Community Leaders help ensure every lifestyle magazine, community postcard, website, email newsletter, and social media page reflects the authentic character of the neighborhood it represents.

Their local knowledge helps us feature genuine stories, beautiful photography, favorite recipes, community traditions, local events, and trusted businesses that residents truly enjoy.

By helping gather community content and introducing outstanding local businesses, Community Leaders strengthen neighborhood pride, encourage local connections, and support the businesses that help communities thrive.

Simply put, Hometown Living would not be possible without dedicated Community Leaders.

Supporting Local Businesses

Strong communities are built when residents support exceptional local businesses, and those businesses invest back into the neighborhoods they serve.

Community Leaders help identify businesses that share Hometown Living’s commitment to professionalism, integrity, exceptional customer service, and community involvement. These introductions often lead to businesses becoming Dream Team Partners, allowing them to gain year-round visibility while helping support local community publications and online resources.

Community Leaders are not expected to be sales professionals. Instead, they serve as trusted community connectors who introduce business owners to the opportunities available through Hometown Living’s Dream Team Partner Directory and help build lasting relationships throughout the community.

What We Look For

Successful Community Leaders are people who:

  • Love their community and enjoy serving others.

  • Have a positive, friendly, and welcoming personality.

  • Communicate honestly and professionally.

  • Enjoy meeting neighbors and local business owners.

  • Believe in supporting local businesses.

  • Are dependable, organized, and responsive.

  • Represent Hometown Living with integrity and respect.

  • Take pride in making their community an even better place to live.

Community Leader Expectations

As representatives of Hometown Living, Community Leaders are expected to:

  • Represent Hometown Living in a positive and professional manner.

  • Build meaningful relationships with residents and local businesses.

  • Encourage community participation and engagement.

  • Help gather photographs, stories, recipes, and information about local events.

  • Promote community pride through positive storytelling.

  • Introduce businesses that may be an excellent fit for the Dream Team Partner Directory.

  • Communicate regularly with the Hometown Living team.

  • Respect the privacy of residents and maintain the highest standards of professionalism.

Our goal is not simply to publish magazines or websites. Our goal is to strengthen communities by connecting neighbors, celebrating local stories, and supporting trusted local businesses.

Flexible Volunteer Leadership

Most Community Leaders serve because they love their neighborhoods and enjoy bringing people together.

Depending on the size of the community, level of participation, and local sponsorship support, many Community Leaders receive nominal compensation or project-based stipends for coordinating community information, gathering local content, assisting with publications, and helping introduce businesses interested in becoming Dream Team Partners.

The position offers flexible involvement while providing the opportunity to make a lasting difference in your hometown.

Join the Hometown Living Team

If you enjoy connecting people, celebrating local stories, supporting small businesses, and making your community an even better place to live, we would love to meet you.

Prospective Community Leaders are invited to schedule a brief conversation with our team to learn more about the program, discuss their community, and explore how they can become part of the growing Hometown Living family.

Together, we can celebrate local traditions, preserve hometown stories, support outstanding businesses, and create trusted community resources that residents will enjoy for generations.
